Welcome to My Blog
Welcome to my Blog.
Ruach, a Catalina 34mkII sailboat, is usually moored in Salem Massachusetts.
Besides day trips in and around Salem Sound my wife Tricia and I often take the boat a little father out. Not way far, but far enough to have “gone someplace”. Sometimes for a weekend, sometimes a week or more.
This blog is intended… for whatever I fancy, actually. I suspect most of the posts will be related to our boat, or sailing, or the ocean… in some way. But some posts will not be. Some posts will be just me… thinking. Sorry, but that’s just the way it is. I think a lot. Most of the time really. Can’t stop. So I’ll share it with you. And let us both hope it’s not complete drivel.
I suppose if you’re going to read this crap you might have a right to know a little about me. I’m a guy, 54 years old in November of 2008. Way highly educated. Once uppon a time I was an executive at a mutual fund company. Operations, then IT stuff. Lots of project management and business process management. I used to make more money than 95% of the US population. I used to earn more money than 60% of the US population. These days life has calmed down. I work at several colleges in the Boston area as an adjunct lecturer on IT, business, and finance. No complaints on that. The schedule affords a good life for a sailor. I live in New England. Sail out of Salem.
So as I said, I’m a sailor, among other things. Didn’t grow up that way. Grew up on the water though. My grandfather had a “summer place” on the Narragansett. It was a little postage stamp piece of land on Nanaquaket pond, a salt water pond off of the Sakonnet River. It seemed like all of earth when I was a kid. Then again, I was a kid, and me being so small everything else was so big. I miss that… a lot.
So, what’s this blog all about? ‘Dunno. Not sure. Can’t tell you yet. Ya see… I haven’t been there myself. So maybe it’ll be about this, or that. Probably a lot about boats. Probably a lot about just stuff.

This is actually my second attempt at the blog. If you have been here before and think something is missing, it is… sorry about the lost content.
